With a fuck you attitude toward being in the spotlight, Percy Amour is strictly about making music for fun. He is the type of guy to make music because he feels like it and doesn't care what you or I think. That may be why I think he is so special and why his music resonates with people. His new single Gentleman, is technically categorized in Hip Hop, but Percy doesn't want that to skew your opinion of the song. His favorite thing to do is use his voice to create different melodies and the new song focuses heavily on this. Foreshadowing his upcoming EP the song is just a little taste of what's to come.
"I love music because of how different every song is. Sometimes you have songs you write in 20 minutes, sometimes you have songs that take 2 months to finish. Every song is a different approach and brings different feelings or emotions out of me."
Growing up Percy had Lil Wayne or Bone Thugs N Harmony filling his ears. He knew he loved music, but wasn't quite sure what to do with it. It was out of pure joy and love for making music for himself that he chose to start. Everything now revolves around music for Percy. Some could say he even dreams about music in his sleep. Experimenting with his sound he went through a lot of doubt from his peers, but this never stopped him. Music is his form of therapy and with all the bullshit in the world, he can tune it out and be present in the moment. Percy is in a lane of his own and his music will not suffer from the opinion of sheep. I look forward to his EP and the success laid out ahead for him.
